Pre-School (Age 2-4):
A unique intoductory program designed to enhance coordination, musicality and a genuine love for the art of dance and gymnastics. Skills taught in this 45 minuet class are: tap, jazz, creative movement and tumbling. Classes meet weekday afternoon and evenings to accomandate working parents schedules. Pre-school classes have one "routine" in the Academy's annual recital.
Age 4 and Older:
Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, contortion and gymnatics tumbling... Each subject is offered in the following time increments:
Age 4-6, 1 Hour each.
Age 6-10, 1 Hour to 1 1/2 Hours each.
Age 10 and Older, 1 hour to 2 hours each.
All Students are recommended to take at least one ballet class to insure proper technical training regardless of what subject they are studying.
The Jersey Cape Dance and Gymnastics Academy INTENSIVE PROGRAM was designed for dancers and gymnasts who wish to pursue a professional career or strive to accomplish more from their training. Since it's inception , more than a decade ago, the Academy Intensive Program graduates have moved on to professional careers in Broadway Shows, Entertaining on Crusie Ships, Disney and back-up dancers for major recording artists as well as graduating from some of the top Colleges and Universities in the country. Intensive dancers are exposed to a variety of styles including ballet, pointe, musical theatre, hip-hop, tap, jazz, modern, gymnastics, contortion and more. They have the opportunity to attend special work shop classes designed to enhance their education in the art of dance and gymnastics with some of the top choreographers and teachers in our field today.
Since the inception of the Intensive Program the main goal has been building character and enhancing lives. It's not just a dance and gymnastics education; it's a total education. Intensive dancers learn life skills through performances, time management, working as a team and so much more. Intensive dancers are encouraged to achive a set of goals. Older dancers serve as mentors for younger dancers and all participants are part of a wonderful family of life time friends, all of whom are striving to be the best that they can be.
